About

What is Paper Honey?

Paper Honey is a small creative studio for thoughtful brands, curious ideas, and beautiful things made with care. Founded by designer Katie Wranik, it brings together years of experience in branding, packaging, photography, and creative problem-solving with a love of nature, making things by hand, and finding inspiration in unexpected places.

Our Purpose

Paper Honey exists to turn thoughtful ideas into useful, beautiful things inspired by nature, curiosity, and everyday wonder. Through approachable design services, creative consulting, digital resources, and small-batch goods, Paper Honey helps independent businesses and creative people bring their ideas to life without losing the personality, meaning, and human touch that make their work special.

At its heart, Paper Honey is about building a slower, more intentional creative life—one with more freedom and a deeper connection to the natural world. The long-term dream is to create a home studio surrounded by gardens, bees, and rescued dogs, with space to welcome artists who need time away to rest, make things, and reconnect with their creativity and nature.

Hi, I’m Katie

I’m Katie Wranik, the graphic designer and creative mind behind Paper Honey Co., as well as the founder of Real Mail.

For more than 15 years, I’ve worked across graphic design, branding, packaging design, advertising, creative direction, product development, and visual storytelling. I help businesses turn early ideas, complicated concepts, and evolving brands into thoughtful, memorable design that feels clear, useful, and full of personality.

I studied graphic design at The Modern in Kettering, Ohio, formerly known as The School of Advertising Art, and graduated in 2007. Since then, I’ve become a creative powerhouse who has created work for large organizations, emerging businesses, and independent brands, including Mead, FedEx, Joe Sakic, Food Bank of the Rockies, Tommy Chong, Mirth Provisions, SoRSE Technology, Her Highness NYC, Trulieve, and Love’s Oven. While working at Blazy Susan, I have had the opportunity to work with esteemed brands such as The Grateful Dead/Dead Head Rolling Company, Jimmy John’s, Pins & Aces, and Prince St. Pizza.

My experience spans brand identity, consumer packaging, retail displays, marketing campaigns, product concepts, digital design, experiential design, and hands-on creative work. I’m especially drawn to projects that require both strong visual thinking and practical problem-solving. I love finding the thread that connects an idea, shaping it into a clear creative direction, and building a visual world around it.

Photography is more of a personal passion than a primary service, but it has become an important outlet for me to explore composition, light, texture, nature, and visual storytelling.

I’m also the founder of Real Mail, a handmade mail-art project created as a response to too many screens and too much corporate sameness. Real Mail gives me a place to collaborate with artists, work with recycled materials, make things by hand, and create meaningful moments of connection through physical mail.
